Testimony #27

“The man who assaulted me was found responsible for nonconsensual sexual contact and given 4 years of probation even [though] he only had 1 [year] of [graduate] school left. I felt this was not a sufficient sanction[,] considering his level of power over other students (he was a preceptor and [Resident Graduate Student (RGS)]). The committee said they "strongly considered" suspension[,] but had to go off of precedent. I think doing so can be a problem if sanctions were [relaxed] in the past[,] leading to a cycle of low sanctions”
