Testimony #16

“During my first year of college, I sought a No Contact Order [(NCO)] because I was being stalked by a fellow Princeton student. Regan Crotty informed me that I could renew the NCO on a yearly basis. When I returned for sophomore year, Regan called to tell me that my stalker had taken it upon himself to renew the NCO indefinitely—an option she did not give me. The experience of being stalked made me feel as if my stalker controlled every facet of my life, since the fear of receiving any contact from him choreographed my daily movements, thoughts, and emotional labor. Regan’s decision to let him renew the NCO indefinitely rather than giving me that privilege re-traumatized me and reinforced the power he had over my body.”
